Every calculation is arithmetic over public data. Spreads, route profits and yearly returns follow rules we spell out on the relevant pages so that you can check them yourself.

The data comes from third parties

Quotes, ads and withdrawal details come from the exchanges themselves. We do not verify their accuracy and cannot: there is no source of truth beyond what the venue publishes.

An exchange can serve stale data, get a withdrawal flag wrong or show an ad that no longer exists. Where our figure disagrees with what you see on the exchange, the exchange is right and we are not.

Numbers go stale faster than you read

The market moves in seconds. A route you are looking at may be gone by the time you open the trade: the ad was pulled, the limit was taken, the price drifted. The larger the percentage shown, the shorter it usually lives — big gaps get picked up first.

On arbitrage specifically: the calculations do not account for the time to move a coin between venues, slippage on execution, or withdrawal queues. A route can cease to exist during those minutes.

Risks worth remembering

Market. Crypto is volatile. A price can fall tens of percent in a day, and the history on our review pages says so plainly: most coins have had years down seventy percent or more.

Counterparty. On P2P you trade with a person, not the exchange. We show the nickname, order count and venue, but we do not vouch for the seller. Disputes are settled by the exchange’s arbitration.

Banking. Banks and payment providers can delay or block a transfer connected to crypto. That is outside our control and the exchange’s.

Technical. Networks congest, withdrawals close for maintenance, a coin sent on the wrong network is lost. We write about networks and memo tags at length on the coin pages — not because we enjoy warnings, but because that is how money is most often lost.

Availability by country

Some exchanges do not serve residents of certain countries or require verification first. We do not track whether a given venue is available to you specifically: that is your task and your responsibility.

Crypto regulation differs by country and keeps changing. Meeting your tax and legal obligations is on you.

Affiliate relationships

We hold affiliate agreements with some exchanges, and clicks on those links earn us money. We say so plainly on the terms page. It does not affect table ordering, which follows the data.
