Binance vs Gate

Gate catches new listings first; Binance lets you fill a large order without slippage. That is the whole fork.

Compared by the numbers

Collected straight from the exchanges. Volume is deliberately left out: venues count it differently, and on some the top of the list is tokenised equities. The last row is our advertisement scanner’s coverage, not the venue’s full currency list, which is wider.

In short: the difference

What Binance is: the largest venue on the market. On the market since 2017, jurisdiction: no single headquarters, its own BNB token.

What Gate is: an early-listing venue. On the market since 2013, jurisdiction: Panama, its own GT token.

What Binance gives you

Against an early-listing venue, Binance plays a different game: The largest venue in the world and the most complete in what it offers: spot, perpetual futures and options, P2P across more than fifty currencies, savings and staking under Earn, new-coin launches on Launchpad, copy trading, trading bots and a payment card. Nearly five hundred USDT pairs and over eight hundred contracts — and, more importantly, the deepest book anywhere: size goes through here without noticeable slippage.

Strong sides: the deepest book we cover, P2P in 50+ currencies, USDT withdrawals from 0.01 on BSC, 19 networks to choose from.

What Gate gives you

The rival’s scale does not mean Gate has nothing to offer: One of the oldest venues, running since 2013, and first in our coverage for withdrawal networks: twenty-four for USDT alone. Two thousand spot pairs and a thousand perpetuals. There is P2P, savings and staking, Startup launches, copy trading, bots and its own GT token with fee discounts.

Strong sides: 24 USDT withdrawal networks, more than anyone, 2000 spot pairs, running since 2013.

What decides it

  • Age. Gate has run since 2013, Binance since 2017 — a gap of 4 years. It guarantees nothing on its own, but the older venue has been through more market cycles.
  • Jurisdiction. Binance sits in no single headquarters, Gate in Panama. It shapes both the checks you pass and what the venue has to disclose.
  • Native tokens. Binance has BNB, Gate has GT: holders usually get fee discounts and access to launches.
  • Strengths side by side. Binance: the deepest book we cover, P2P in 50+ currencies, USDT withdrawals from 0.01 on BSC, 19 networks to choose from; Gate: 24 USDT withdrawal networks, more than anyone, 2000 spot pairs, running since 2013.
  • Which job. Binance is the anchor venue for anyone who values reliable execution and cheap transfers, while Gate is for anyone who values freedom of choice when moving coins between chains.
  • Worth remembering. Binance: new coins arrive here later than on the early-listing venues. Gate: the interface is dense with sections: finding the right one takes a while.

Which one fits you

Binance — the anchor venue for anyone who values reliable execution and cheap transfers.

Gate — for anyone who values freedom of choice when moving coins between chains.

What people ask most

Binance: Which network is cheapest to withdraw on? It depends on the coin and current network load. The table at the top of this page shows live fees per network — usually TRON and BSC are cheapest, Ethereum dearest.

Binance: Do I need verification to trade? Basic verification for spot trading. Full verification, with a document and a selfie, for P2P, fiat funding and any meaningful withdrawal.

Gate: Are there many coins? One of the widest listings on the market, comparable to MEXC. As there, breadth calls for caution: check a pair's volume before trading.

Gate: What is proof of reserves? A Merkle-tree procedure letting you verify your balance is counted in the exchange's liabilities and those liabilities are covered by assets. It does not reveal off-balance-sheet obligations.

Both at once

Most people end up keeping both: one for daily trades, the other for what the first one lacks. A new ticker is caught where it lands first, and a small sum goes there with it. The main capital stays on the deeper venue and is used once the coin reaches it.

Live numbers

The table above is built from our own market snapshots: USDT pairs, perpetual contracts, P2P ads and currencies, withdrawal networks and the cheapest one. Binance and Gate can be compared on facts rather than promises.

What the numbers say

Spot is wider on Gate: 2,082 USDT pairs against 496, a gap of 4.2×. On perpetual contracts Gate is ahead — 1,022 to 836. For USDT withdrawals Gate offers 24 networks and Binance offers 19; one extra chain is sometimes the whole saving. Binance asks less to move USDT — 0.0100 over BSC; Gate comes to 0.0500 ARBITRUM. Our scanner reads P2P advertisements on Gate in 72 currencies and on Binance in 55.
