In short: the difference
Toobit is an exchange with a strong futures side. On the market since 2022, jurisdiction: Seychelles, its own TBT token.
Kraken is a regulated venue. On the market since 2011, jurisdiction: San Francisco, USA.
What Toobit gives you
Against a regulated venue, Toobit wins on other things: A young venue with a derivatives character: over seven hundred USDT perpetuals and five hundred-plus spot pairs. There is P2P, copy trading, Earn savings and its own TBT token. A distinctive trait is the spread of withdrawal prices across networks: the gap between cheapest and dearest is wider here than anywhere, and choosing well saves money.
Strong sides: 700+ perpetuals, P2P in dozens of currencies, a notably cheap network if you pick right.
What Kraken gives you
The terminal is strong on contracts, but Kraken has its own ground: The oldest venue we cover, running since 2011 under US regulation. Its distinction is real money: around seven hundred dollar pairs and five hundred and forty-six euro pairs, more than anyone here. There is spot, perpetual futures with hourly funding, staking and institutional services. Kraken is how we compute the live dollar rate in our stablecoin section.
Strong sides: 546 euro pairs and around seven hundred dollar ones, age and regulation, hourly funding.
What decides it
- Age. Kraken has run since 2011, Toobit since 2022 — a gap of 11 years. It guarantees nothing on its own, but the older venue has been through more market cycles.
- Jurisdiction. Toobit sits in Seychelles, Kraken in San Francisco, USA. It shapes both the checks you pass and what the venue has to disclose.
- Native token. TBT on Toobit cuts fees and opens launches; Kraken has no such lever.
- Strengths side by side. Toobit: 700+ perpetuals, P2P in dozens of currencies, a notably cheap network if you pick right; Kraken: 546 euro pairs and around seven hundred dollar ones, age and regulation, hourly funding.
- Which job. Toobit is for derivatives trading and for anyone who picks the network by price, while Kraken is for settling in real dollars and euro rather than stablecoins.
- Worth remembering. Toobit: coins bought on P2P become withdrawable the next day — plan around it. Kraken: entry-level fees run higher than neighbours — it pays off at larger volumes.
Which one fits you
Toobit — for derivatives trading and for anyone who picks the network by price.
Kraken — for settling in real dollars and euro rather than stablecoins.
What people ask most
Toobit: How reliable is Toobit? It has operated since 2022 from the Seychelles — the youngest venue in our coverage. We would not advise parking long-term balances there, as with any exchange.
Toobit: What makes Toobit useful for funding? It publishes the exact next accrual time per contract, which most exchanges do not. That lets you enter just before funding rather than hold a position for nothing.
Toobit: How do I fund a Toobit account? Go to Assets → Spot Account → Deposit, pick the coin and network, and send to the address shown. Choose the same network you are sending from.
Kraken: Can a withdrawal be cancelled? While it is "Initiated", yes; while "Pending", sometimes. Once the transaction is broadcast to the blockchain it cannot be cancelled. That is true everywhere, but Kraken states the states explicitly.
Kraken: What does trading on Kraken actually cost? At the entry tier, 0.80% taker and 0.40% maker, from its own fee schedule. The rate falls with thirty-day volume: reaching 0.20% taker takes a quarter of a million dollars traded in a month.
Kraken: What makes Kraken useful for stablecoins? It has genuine USD pairs, which is how we compute the live dollar rate. Without that anchor, USDT’s deviation would be measured against USDT itself.
Both at once
Nothing stops you from opening an account on both: it is free, and a pair of venues almost always beats any single one on price. Euro or hryvnia comes in on the regulated venue, moves as a stablecoin to the terminal, and the position opens there. Withdrawals take the same road back.
Live numbers
Everything in the table above is recomputed together with the rest of the site — pairs, contracts, P2P, networks and the withdrawal fee. Toobit and Kraken can be compared on facts rather than promises.
What the numbers say
Toobit gives 11.8× the choice on spot: 533 USDT pairs against 45. The futures list runs longer on Toobit: 375, against 282. Of the two, only Toobit publishes a USDT withdrawal price: 0.10, chain OPTIMISM. Of the pair, only Toobit feeds our P2P scanner, 10 currencies.
