Gate vs WEEX

Gate collects new coins, WEEX collects leverage and contracts. Different jobs, usually done on different venues.

Compared by the numbers

Everything below is read from the platforms directly. We leave volume out by choice — the methods differ too much for an honest comparison. And the P2P row measures our own scanner’s reach, not the exchange’s full currency list.

In short: the difference

First in the pair, Gate, is the place where new coins show up first. On the market since 2013, jurisdiction: Panama, its own GT token.

Second in the pair, WEEX, is a venue built for leveraged trading. On the market since 2018, jurisdiction: Singapore, its own WXT token.

What Gate gives you

The terminal is strong on contracts, but Gate has its own ground: One of the oldest venues, running since 2013, and first in our coverage for withdrawal networks: twenty-four for USDT alone. Two thousand spot pairs and a thousand perpetuals. There is P2P, savings and staking, Startup launches, copy trading, bots and its own GT token with fee discounts.

Strong sides: 24 USDT withdrawal networks, more than anyone, 2000 spot pairs, running since 2013.

What WEEX gives you

Against an early-listing venue, WEEX plays a different game: A young venue that grew fast: seventeen hundred spot pairs and a thousand perpetuals, more than many long-established names. There is P2P in dozens of currencies, copy trading, savings and its own WXT token. The exchange is known for the user protection fund it holds publicly.

Strong sides: 1700 spot pairs and 1000 contracts, a broad P2P, a public protection fund.

What decides it

  • Age. Gate has run since 2013, WEEX since 2018 — a gap of 5 years. It guarantees nothing on its own, but the older venue has been through more market cycles.
  • Jurisdiction. Gate sits in Panama, WEEX in Singapore. It shapes both the checks you pass and what the venue has to disclose.
  • Native tokens. Gate has GT, WEEX has WXT: holders usually get fee discounts and access to launches.
  • Strengths side by side. Gate: 24 USDT withdrawal networks, more than anyone, 2000 spot pairs, running since 2013; WEEX: 1700 spot pairs and 1000 contracts, a broad P2P, a public protection fund.
  • Which job. Gate is for anyone who values freedom of choice when moving coins between chains, while WEEX is for anyone who needs a wide choice of pairs and a live P2P in their currency.
  • Worth remembering. Gate: the interface is dense with sections: finding the right one takes a while. WEEX: eleven withdrawal networks — fewer than the largest venues.

Which one fits you

Gate — for anyone who values freedom of choice when moving coins between chains.

WEEX — for anyone who needs a wide choice of pairs and a live P2P in their currency.

What people ask most

Gate: How reliable is Gate? It has operated since 2013 and publishes proof of reserves regularly — good marks by industry standards. That publication is not a full audit.

Gate: What does the GT token give me? A fee discount and access to exchange programmes, including early sales.

WEEX: How do I withdraw? Under the same Assets section choose Withdraw, then the coin, network and destination address. The fee depends on the network, not the amount, so splitting a withdrawal into parts is a straight loss.

WEEX: Does WEEX have an official YouTube channel? We checked the link in the weex.com footer in September 2026: it leads to a channel holding no videos that does not belong to the exchange. So we link no video here, and suggest taking instructions from the help centre linked below.

WEEX: What does WEEX charge? 0.1% for both maker and taker on spot. The exchange publishes the rate per pair in its instrument directory, so you can verify it yourself.

Both at once

You do not have to pick one. Two accounts give you a fallback when the coin or network you need exists only on the other venue. The coin is bought where it already trades, moved across and shorted with a contract on the other — that locks the price while the transfer runs.

Live numbers

Everything in the table above is recomputed together with the rest of the site — pairs, contracts, P2P, networks and the withdrawal fee. Gate and WEEX can be compared on facts rather than promises.

What the numbers say

Spot comes out level — about 1,877 USDT pairs either way. Futures come out even: roughly 1,011 contracts either way. For USDT withdrawals Gate offers 24 networks and WEEX offers 11; one extra chain is sometimes the whole saving. Gate asks less to move USDT — 0.0500 over ARBITRUM; WEEX comes to 0.10 POLYGON. P2P coverage is wider on WEEX: 89 currencies against 72 on Gate.
